About Debbie

Debbie Thompson is President and CEO of Always On Consulting, providing strategic human resources consultations and solutions to her clients.

Debbie’s HR career spans more than 40 years. She served 17 years at Horace Mann as Vice President, Senior Human Resources Business Partner, and Head of Talent Acquisition. As a member of the HR leadership team, she consulted with senior leadership teams to design and drive people-first strategies and solutions that resulted in a variety of business and performance impacts.

Prior to joining Horace Mann, Debbie spent 2 years at AIG and 23 years at City Water, Light and Power in various HR leadership roles.

Outside of her professional HR roles, Debbie is incredibly passionate about the Springfield, Illinois community, with decades of service to women and business groups.
