Debbie Thompson is the President and CEO of Always On Consulting, where she delivers strategic human resources expertise and tailored solutions to organizations ready to put their people first.
With more than 40 years of HR leadership experience, Debbie brings a depth of knowledge that few can match. She spent 17 years at Horace Mann, serving in roles including Vice President, Senior Human Resources Business Partner, and Head of Talent Acquisition. As a key member of the HR leadership team, she partnered with senior executives to design and execute people-centered strategies that drove measurable business results and lasting organizational impact.
Before Horace Mann, Debbie built her foundation over 23 years at City Water, Light and Power and two years at AIG, advancing through a range of HR leadership roles that sharpened her ability to lead through complexity and change.
Beyond her professional career, Debbie is deeply rooted in the Springfield, Illinois community. For decades, she has devoted her time and talent to women's organizations and business groups - a reflection of her belief that strong communities are built one relationship at a time.
